Qualifications

Over the span of his professional legal career he has defended clients in civil and criminal tax matters before the Internal Revenue Service, state departments of revenue and the Federal Aviation Administration. Because of his national and international experience, he is an expert in matters of personal residence when determining income taxation jurisdiction.

Advantages of a Multi-Qualified Consultant

Most aviation-related matters will include FAR, legal, tax, and business decisions. When one consultant has multiple disciplines, the cost, inefficiency and perhaps frustration of getting two or more professionals to work together is avoided. Instead, one consultant can have a macro view of the client’s circumstances and can contemplate the tax, legal, aviation, and business ramifications of pending decisions.

If a CPA firm is needed to prepare tax returns or to provide accounting services, the CPAs of Romer & Company, P.C., a firm Nick Romer founded in 1974, are available. Nick practices independently from the CPA firm Romer & Company, P.C. to preserve lawyer-client privilege.

Fees

No up-front retainers, minimum annual fees, contracts, or engagement letters are required to have an aviation lawyer/CPA advising you at a reasonable hourly fee. If the client is an Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association legal services plan member, fees may be reimbursable by the AOPA.
